This instruction will help you to use USB-modem.
Note: Detailed description of service regulations for USB-modem is provided in the section "Help", in the menu of software for exploitation of USB-modem.

USB-modem MegaCom is supported by main types of note-books and personal computers (HP, IBM, Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell, Founder etc.)
Non-compliance with recommendations for configuration may affect productivity of the computer.
Extract carrier of SIM-card from USB-modem. After that insert SIM-card MegaCom into carrier as is shown in the picture. Make sure that SIM-card is fully and properly inserted. Then, put back the carrier of SIM-cars into USB-modem.



Connection of USB-modem with computer
Installation of software
1. Connect USB-modem to personal computer.
2. In several seconds, the system will automatically open the window of folder ZTEMODEM and launch installation of software.
Note: If your computer does not support automatic installation, launch installation of the program with the help of file Install.exe, provided on CD-ROM and follow instructions on installation.
3. Choose language of installation.
4. The system will show the installation process status. In one minute, installation of the program will be finished.
Launching of application program
1. After proper connection of USB-modem, the application program is launched automatically.
2. Otherwise for launching of the application choose Start → Programs, find the group of programs UI and start the file with name UI. Also, launching of application may be performed by double mouse click on the shortcut UI.
3. After initialization of modem, on task bar there will appear the standby label, which means that modem works in the normal mode.
Connection to Internet
1. Choose the network label and the system will automatically launch search of available network.
2. After connection, the label will be changed and you will be able to use Internet network, receive email messages and use other services of the network.
Disconnection from Internet
To disconnect internet it is necessary to click on the button of cancel in the main interface.
1. Close the software "USB-modem".
2. Doubly click on message space; there will appear the dialog window "Safe removal of device"
3. Select necessary device and click on the button "Stop"
4. When the message will appear "Device may be removed", remove USB-modem from USB-port.
Removal of software
1. Close the application program, stop work of the card microSD (if it is used) and remove USB-modem from computer
2. Choose Start → Programs, find the group of programs UI and choose the menu of deletion.
3. For removal, press the button Next.
Note: The system warns about necessity in disconnection of USB-modem
4. The system will show the removal process status. In one minute, deletion of the program will be finished.
Recommendations on exploitation of USB-modem
1. Some electronic devices, such as electronic systems of transportation means, at insufficient screening are sensitive to electromagnetic interferences, caused by USB-modem.
2. Work of computer and USB-modem may affect operation of such medical devices as earphones and cardio stimulators. When using such devices it is necessary to keep USB-modem at the distance of at least 20 centimeters from them. In case of necessity it is recommended to turn off the USB-modem.
3. Pay attention on limitations for USB usage in crude storage or chemical plants, where explosive materials are processed. In case of necessity it is recommended to turn off the USB-modem.
4. Without necessity do not touch the zone of internal aerial of USB-modem, this may affect its operation.
5. Keep USB-modem in places, unavailable for young children as playing with modem by children may cause various traumas.
6. Usage of any unauthorized devices may affect operation of USB-modem.
7. Do not use USB modem in proximity to metallic devices and constructions, which radiate electromagnetic waves. This may affect receipts of signals.
8. USB-modem is not water-proof, that’s why it is necessary to avoid contact of USB-modem surface with water and moisture. It is recommended to keep USB-modem in dark places.
9. Do not use USB-modem right after change of temperature regime. This may cause condensation of moisture inside and outside USB-modem.
10. Do not drop, bend or break USB-modem. This may cause to serious damages of equipment.
11. It is prohibited to demount the device independently. Repair may be performed only by qualified specialists.
12. It is necessary to turn off USB-modem in air-planes. Wireless devices may cause obstacles in operation of air-craft equipment.
