What is Mobile Internet?

Mobile Internet is a service, which allows having Internet access with the help of mobile telephone that support Internet-GPRS and EDGE technologies to be connected to a computer through Bluetooth or data-cable. In this case the telephone functions as a modem.

    • Get access to internal corporate network;
    • Receive calls without interrupting your internet connection;
What is EDGE?

EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution) is a technology of high-speed data transmission for GSM networks. To the moment the EDGE configuration in the MegaCom network enables data transmission with the speed till 236 kbps that is by 3 times faster than GPRS.

EDGE can be considered as a technology of transition to the 3G networks, that will allow subscribers to use innovative services of the third generation, such as: high-speed access to Internet, video and audio streaming, loading video, etc. in fact many operators of mobile communication consider the EDGE standard as an economically efficient and effective alternative to 3G.

Parameters for WAP under manual setting:

          • APN: internet

* For those who do not have APN setting, it is necessary to add the following line in the line of modem initialization: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet"

Once the parameters have been entered, it is recommended that you reset your telephone.

Furthermore, you should install software in your computer allowing you to use your mobile telephone as a modem (as a rule, this kind of software is attached to your mobile telephone).

To get internet access you should create a dial-up connection. The number for the call is *99#, password is absent.
