Terms and Nuances of Roaming
To connect to roaming, you should contact the MegaCom service center – write an application and deposit at least 3800 som on your account – the minimum balance for roaming service connection. You can find out more detailed information on the terms of roaming service from the representatives of the service center or from our information center.
Attention! The list of direct roaming partners in specified in the section "Direct Roaming Partners". The roaming service in networks of direct partners is available in the home subscription "MegaCom", in other networks of the world cellular operators, it is necessary to change subscription to "MIR", which is already available in your SIM-card. Upon returning from roaming to Kyrgyzstan, it is necessary to change home subscription "MegaCom" again.
To check and select needed subscription in your phone you should find menu MegaCom, which is usually provided in the main menu (for instance, in Nokia and Siemens), but it also can be provided in Tools - for Motorola, Applications or "WAP and Games" for Samsung, and "Entertainment" for Sony Ericsson.
Method of selection/review of subscription is the same for all phones:
- Enter MegaCom menu.
- There will be two options: "Subscription" and "SetUp." Select "Subscription" option.
- There will be two options: "Show subscription" (serves to review current subscription) and "Select subscription" (serves to change current subscription).
- To change current subscription press "Select subscription".
- There will be two options: MegaCom (for use of the roaming services in home network and roaming services in Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) and MIR (for use of the roaming services in other countries).
- Select correspondent subscription, press OK and return to the main menu of the phone. Before choosing the subscription, investigate the list of direct roaming partners to understand in which networks the roaming service is available in the home subscription of the Company MegaCom.
- It is recommended to select network by hand, as on automatic selection, the phone selects network with the strongest signal. When "Select Networks?" appears, press ОК.
- After completion of the search, you will see a list of all mobile operators in the country of interest. In order to find out what network is available in that country, please contact a representative of MegaCom service center, a call center operator, or visit our website. You should register only with the networks that are available in the list of accessible roaming. Registration in the networks beyond the list will only allow you to make Emergency Calls at 112.

When you go to other country, check if you have international access connected. If you do not have it, you will not be able to make calls.

Your mobile phone may be a cause of why roaming does not work (for instance, when you use an obsolete, unlocked or non-certified phones). Try to insert your SIM card in another phone, and you will possibly solve the problem.

While roaming, numbers of incoming and outgoing SMS messages may be changed by the host network, and will therefore be different from the real numbers. The numbers of incoming calls may also be changed, or be absent on both phone display, and on call details. These are due to the specifics of roaming service provision. However, in the case of outgoing SMSes, this does not mean that messages are delivered to the wrong address. All SMSes will be delivered to the number that you send them to.
- When sending international sms-messages, the number of a recipient should be entered with "+" at the beginning, in the following format: + [code of the country] [code of mobile connection network] [number of the subscriber], for example: + 99455Х ХХХХХХ.
- Using the roaming service in some countries, the fee may be charged for an attempt to connect (i.e. when a subscriber tries to make a call, irrespective of the result), the operator charges a certain fee from the moment of the connection command sending.
- When changing geographic location in the roaming (flight-transfer to another country), it is necessary to reload the telephone device and choose the guest network for registration.

Before leaving the country, it is necessary to change roaming network settings by default. For instance the model of Nokia 5610D: Menu – Settings – Telephone Settings – Network type – select from the list "Double mode", UTM, GSM – GSM. Also in the settings "Package data" in the menu "Package connection" it is necessary to choose the option "When needed", instead of "Always attached".
